Both places have the ruling party MP’s. Both are trying to get the Railway zone for themselves. Vijayawada has TDP MP Kesineni Nani fighting for it and BJP MP kambhampati Hari Babu trying for Vizag as the railway zone.
A demand for Special Zone in Vizag is not a new one. The demand for the change Waltair division into recognized zone was made in the past. After the bifurcation, people here hoped for getting zonal here. On the other hand, people of Vijayawada are expecting to make theirs a zonal head quarters as it already was a regional head quarters.
Vizag has the benefit of have many railway lands and Vijayawada have the advantage of being as a linking point for northern and southern railways.
TDP has its special interest in Vijayawada while BJP has some extra love for Vizag. Let us see who get the fruit of success.
