‘GA’ audio amidst ‘Power Star’ chants

The audio launch of Ram Charan-starrer ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’ (GA) in Hyderabad on Monday was a grand affair, with the actor’s dad Chiranjeevi gracing it, much to the delight of mega fans. Held at a popular venue in the city, the launch took place amidst ‘Power star’ chants, a common fixture that you associate with the audio launches of mega family heroes of late. At one point, Chiranjeevi had to interrupt his speech to pacify his fans by stating, “If they help ‘GA’ to run for 150 days, Pawan would be gracing the 150 days celebrations do.” It’s no secret that both Chiru and Pawan share political differences.

Speaking about the film’s director Krishna Vamsi, Chiru, on a lighter note, said that while the director might have thought of making a film with him but he never thought of acting in it. “Since Vamsi is known to be a hard task master who gets 100 per cent from his actors, I wasn’t keen to do a film with him. I didn’t want someone to test my skills; after all I had a good number of films behind me,” chuckled Chiru.

About producer Ganesh, the actor-turned-politician said that the former goes to any extent to ensure that the film comes out according to the director’s vision. “The team felt that Rajkiran’s (who was later replaced by Prakash Raj) character was not bringing the required Teluguness to the film and when I saw it, I echoed a similar feeling. Though big money was at stake for Ganesh, he was keen that everything falls in place for the product. He politely apologised to Rajkiran, gave his due and replaced him with Prakash Raj.”

About his 150th film, Chiru said that it might begin before 2014. “The script decides it,” he said. Ram Charan, on the other hand, set the record straight on who’ll produce the project. He stated that he will be producing his dad’s comeback film by floating a banner on his mother’s name.
