SmartTrak Solar plans expansion

Hyderabad: City-based SmartTrak Solar Systems Private Limited which is into the business of making solar tracking systems has drawn up plans for expansion across the country. The company, which has supplied to its systems to various solar installations totaling 30 MW capacity in and around the city, has orders for 60 MW capacity under execution currently. It expects to close this year with Rs 60 core in total revenues. “With increasing investments into solar energy space, we are gearing up for a pan-India presence,” G Bhagawan Reddy, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, told media here on Wednesday. Solar tracking system is a device that constantly re-orients a solar panel towards sunlight so that the panel can generate maximum solar energy for a longer period. Panels fitted with tracking systems produce more solar energy when compared with fixed panels. SmartTrak has a manufacturing facility on the city outskirts, set up with an investment of Rs 5 crore. “We are targeting an order book of 1000 MW for our systems over the next five years,” Reddy said.
