Minister heckled at ZP meet, There was a heated debate at the Nalgonda Zilla Parishad meeting here on Thursday on the Nakkalagandi Lift Irrigation scheme and the Tunnel project on which a report was telecast recently by the HMTV.

Nalgonda: There was a heated debate at the Nalgonda Zilla Parishad meeting here on Thursday on the Nakkalagandi Lift Irrigation scheme and the Tunnel project on which a report was telecast recently by the HMTV.
Representatives of the Congress, CPI besides ZPTCs and MPTCs from Munugode constituency squatted in front of the podium, where Minister G Jagadish Reddy was seated, to register their protest against the government’s alleged negligent attitude towards the two projects. They raised slogans against the government.
Reddy responded to the protest, saying the government was not against the projects. He said even while taking up the Jurala project survey, the government would strive to complete all the pending irrigation projects in the district. Following the assurance, the ZPTCs and MPTCs called off their protest.
The meeting discussed several issues like recognition to the backward regions grant fund (BRGF) works and those pertaining to the Central and the State governments. It adopted a resolution opposing the government stand on the plight of the Pulichintala project displaced persons.
Zilla Parishad chairman Balu Naik, Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy and several MLAs attended the meeting.
