Speaking on the occasion, the ZP chairperson said “of all the festivals, Bathukamma holds great significance for women.”

She said the festival would bring great joy to the women of all age groups. She stated that the Bathukamma festival was unique. “It is really appreciable that State government had granted Rs 10 crore for celebrating the festival,” Padma added.

Writer Sridevi explained historic and cultural significance of the festival. TPCC secretary Prabhakar Reddy speaking on the occasion appreciated the school management for conducting the celebrations on a grand manner. He lauded the State government’s decision to allow the women employees to leave the office at 2 pm to enable them to participate in Bathukamma celebrations.

The school director-cum-correspondent Raji Reddy stated that the celebrations were conducted in order to educate the students about Telangana culture and its heritage. School students, teachers, staff members took part in the celebrations. A massive ‘Bathukamma’ prepared by the school students and teachers was a attraction.
