Kurnool: The police in Kurnool district have embarked on a drive to contain rowdyism, illicit brewing of liquor and sexual assaults on women in Atmakur division.
On the orders of Kurnool district Superintendent of Police Ramakrishna, the police in Atmakur division, led by DSP Narasimha Reddy has launched the drive. The DSP on Sunday rounded up as many alleged rowdies as possible in the Nallamala forest area and took them to the police station.
Thos who were summoned to the police station included ex-convicts and bootleggers from Siddhapuram village. The police decided to conduct counselling for rowdies once in every three months.
