Hyderabad: Hyderabad: The war of words between the TDP and TRS on realignment of Metro Rail route has turned bitter on Sunday.

While Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy called TDP leader Revanth Reddy ‘Bachcha’ (child) and accused him of making baseless allegations, Revanth Reddy retaliated saying that he stood by his allegations and dared the home minister to file a defamation case against him if the government was clean and had done no wrong. Recently Revanth had levelled several allegations against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao saying that the TRS government had taken over 32 acres of land allotted to L&T in Gachibowli and allocated it to J Rameshwar Rao of My Home Group. He dared the government to order a probe if there was no role of the Chief Minister and his son K T Rama Rao in handing over Metro Rail land to the private individual. Reacting to the charges at Telangana Bhavan, Naini asked TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu not to resort to cheap tactics to defame the TRS party.

“Revanth is a puppet in the hands of Naidu. He just wants to use leaders like Revanth for a mudslinging campaign against the TRS,” the home minister said.

Meanwhile, former minister and TRS leader Jupally Krishna Rao dared Revanth for an open debate on Metro Rail accusations. He said Revanth Reddy should get his head tonsured in case he failed to prove his charges. The TDP legislator was resorting to cheap tricks only to please his party president and get a key post in Telangana unit of the party, Rao alleged.

Jupally advised him not to lower the prestige of Mahabubnagar district as well as Telangana with his baseless remarks.

But the unstoppable Revanth retorted saying that the government of Telangana should explain why the TS Industrial Investment Corporation MD Jayesh Ranjan went on long leave if there was nothing hanky panky.

Further, he stated that the TDP would produce all documents related to TRS’s irregularities before Assembly Speaker and press for a comprehensive debate. We would not hesitate to go to court if the ruling party wanted to bulldoze the opposition in Assembly, he said.
