Hyderabad: Soon after the successful mission of ISRO’s MOM mission, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, addressed the nation and said that Mars gets MOM (Mangal ko MOM milgaya). He said that India is the first nation to get succeeded in its first ever mission. He congratulated every scientist of ISRO and praised immensely.

Modi said that the success was possible only due to the confidence and endowment of our scientists. Further, he said that the ISRO scientists have a great patience to wait and monitor the entire mission with a great vision for such a long time, whereas a normal man cannot even wait for a minute to consume the food served in the plate. He said so far only 21 missions have been successful and India achieved the success in its first ever attempt. He said that ISRO joined the elite club to succeed in its interplanetary mission. Modi said that every Indian is proud of ISRO while stating that India’s every part has contributed some or other thing. He also mentioned about a few places where the parts are manufactured.

Uncertainty is a part of the journey, said Modi. He said that he would have owned the responsibility in case of failure. He said the entire mission was related to Mangal (Mars), so it was for sure that the mission should have completed successfully. He said a quote in Hindi and Gujarati which literally means “If successful we become prey for jealous; else, if failed we become prey for further thinking”. He said without any sort of risk, success cannot be achieved. Modi said that more than success - it is the decision making process that becomes difficult in any mission. No success ever achieved without any daring step, added Modi. He congratulated for turning impossible into a possibility. He said that ISRO has habituated to doing miracles. He said the culture maintained at ISRO was praiseworthy. He congratulated every scientist at ISRO for maintaining the wonderful culture.

He said that the ultimate aim of any mission lies in the nation building. He said that if the efforts put in by the ISRO are adopted in each and every sector, governance could be developed. He said that such great missions are possible only through the scientists who sacrifice many things for the sake of the nation. Modi said that the scientists are not less than Rishis. He concluded his speech by inspiring the ISRO team by asking them to take up more challenging missions. He said that the success of scientists is worth 1000 times the success of a cricket team. He referred to the verse of Rabindranath Tagore before concluding:”… Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake”.
