Vijayawada: The Left parties here on Monday launched a signature campaign against the TDP government for not implementing loan waiver for farmers, members of DWCRA groups and handloom wavers operating in the State.
Speaking on the occasion, CPI State secretary K Rama Krishna flayed the Central and State governments for their miserable failure in fulfilling the poll promise. The Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had ignored crop loan waiver and DWCRA group loan waiver, he said and added that not a single loan was sanctioned to farmers during these 100 days. In fact, banks have been slapping gold auction notices on the farmers and members of DWCRA groups, he said. The CPM State secretary P Madhu said that Chief Minister had backtracked on his poll promise of loan waiver immediately after taking oath.
