Mathura:Some highly valued idols of Radha Raman stolen from a village temple in this region in Uttar Pradesh nine months ago have been recovered and restored at the shrine.

The 550-year-old statues, installed by Raja Todar Mall, a minister of Mughal emperor Akbar, were recovered Monday night, Senior Superintendent of Police Manzil Saini said.

Saini said a six-member gang that stole the statues had planned to smuggle them out of India. Three suspects have been arrested.
