Various bikers clubs in association with the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) and NGO Tharuni successfully organised a campaign called Bikethon on Saturday aiming to save the girl child. Besides the NGO and bikers clubs, a whole lot of students and IT professionals participated and made the campaign successful.

Inaugurated by MP Kavitha Kalvakuntla, the Bikethon started at 8.30 am at Hyderabad Public School, headed to Paradise and through Bowenpally, Kompally X Road and ended at the AP Forest Academy, Dulapally. The drive was organised in connection with the International Girl Child Day to highlight the importance of the girl child and to improve the child sex ratio in the state.

AK Khan, DG, ACB, along with the participants, pledged to save the girl child while Kavitha promised to work towards increasing the sex ratio in the state, on behalf of the government. About 300 bikers participated enthusiastically along the 20 kilometres stretch raising the slogan ‘No Girl – No World’ to protect the girl child.
