• Lack of water supply has hit them hard, There is no piped water supply of drinking water.

• Water supply through water tanks is insufficient.

• No road transport to the other districts.

• Communication network down.

Hiked prices:

• 20 liter water bottle for Rs.300.

• Single egg for Rs 15.

• One litre milk for Rs 80.

• Petrol Rs 100 per litre

• Tomato for Rs 80 per kg.

Some devastating stats:

• The cyclone which hit the coast near this city Sunday with heavy rains a gale speed of 185 kmph.

• 21 lives were lost in three north coastal districts - Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam,. Vijayanagaram.

• About 600,000 people have taken shelter in relief camps.

• The cyclone has damaged nearly 7,000 houses.

• 7000 uprooted trees, electricity poles, communication towers, wires, shattered pieces of glass and other debris.
