National Hobie Sailing from today
The country’s top names will be seen in action in the 6th Inland National Hobie 16 Sailing Championship that begins at Hussain Sagar Lake here on Tuesday.
Hyderabad: The country’s top names will be seen in action in the 6th Inland National Hobie 16 Sailing Championship that begins at Hussain Sagar Lake here on Tuesday.
The championship is being jointly organised by AWSA, Sports Authority of Telangana State and the Telangana State Sailing Association under the overall supervision of National Hobie Class Association (NHCA).
Major Ashish Saxena, Organising Secretary from NHCA told reporters here on Monday that 15 teams representing eight sailing clubs would be vying for honours. The participants include INWTC outfits from Mumbai and Visakhapatnam, EMESA Secunderabad and AWSA Hyderabad.
Competitions will be held from Wednesday to Friday and will feature 12 racing championships.
Some of the big names participating include Arjuna awardee and Asian Games silver medallist Satish Joshi, double Olympian Manjeet Singh, multiple National Games medallists James Boy Singh and P Prasad. Rathish R Nair and K Yakobu, who enjoy a distinguished track-record over several events.
