New Delhi: Sri Lanka’s Cricket ex-Captain Arjuna Ranathunga said that, India’s world cup victory is the inspiration for them and that this is the reason for their world cup victory in 1996.
“The victory of Kapil and Team in 1983 brought confidence in me. We questioned ourselves, if a country like India can win against a strong team like West Indies and win the World cup, Why not us? Later we won the World cup in 1996,” said Ranathunga.
