Vijayawada: A couple who headed to a church on bike from their house in Wynch Peta was killed in an accident at Errakatta low bridge after being hit by a speeding lorry. Both sustained severe head injuries.
According to Ajitsingh Nagar CI V Pavan Kumar, Komali Naga Raju (38), a construction labourer, was on his way to church, along with wife Komali Vyduramma (32), at Petzoni Peta. They were followed by their 18- year-old son Komali Rajesh and Raju's brother on another bike. Rajesh, who is undergoing apprenticeship after completing ITI, who witnessed the accident, fainted. The police registered a case and sent the bodies to the government hospital for autopsy.
