Hyderabad: Dereliction of duty by the staff on patrolling and night round system prompted the Cyberabad Commissioner C V Anand to revamp the First Response System of the new patrol cars and blue colts two-wheelers.

The decision was taken after reports of several cases of non-response by the staff. In this regard, Cyberabad Commissionerate has prepared detailed hourly job charts for both the patrol and blue colts providing details of the locations and junctions at which the patrol car has to be positioned.

The location will change in a rotational manner every hour over a period of 24 hours. Bluecolts motorcycles will conduct ‘Galli Gasthi’ and will function in two shifts. Every hour, the blue colt will cover a certain specific area more in the lanes and bylanes, check illegal activities, criminals, property offenders and will serve summons.

To closely monitor the job chart and movements, the DCP office zonal controls were now being strengthened with one SI incharge and one head constable or constable plus one home guard in each of the three shifts. The Night Divisional Round Officers were losing control as they were getting tired. Hence it was decided to allow them to go home at 7 pm and return to office and be on duty between 2 am and 6 am.

All those who perform night duties would be permitted to report for duties at 1 pm after rest, breakfast and early lunch at home. The Commissioner feels that this reform would ensure an active night duty system.
