Hyderabad: Eleven people - nine women and two men - are reported killed in a huge fire at an Andhra Pradesh factory which makes fireworks. Six others, including the owner, have reportedly been injured.

Superintendent of Police Ravi Prakash said the fire broke out during a lunch break at the factory.

About 30 people were inside the factory when the incident happened; 7-8 people have been rushed to the Kakinada General Hospital.

Two fire vehicles were pressed into service to put off the fire. Police said the manufacturing facility has license and mishap took place due to negligence while manufacturing.

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu has expressed grief over the death of 11 persons. He has ordered district collector Neetu Prasad to take measures to put off the fire.
