Hyderabad: Local residents, including a large number of women, on Tuesday staged a novel protest at Babujinagar in Mushirabad, submitting a memorandum to a cow opposing the efforts of toddy societies to re-open shops in Domalguda, Kavadiguda and Mushirabad. The demonstrators raised slogans against re-opening of toddy shops, stressing that they liked cow milk, rather than toddy. Women expressed their anger over the damage toddy would cause to the poor and downtrodden families. A local resident P Srinivas Reddy led the protest.
