Police rescue kidnapped boy

Hyderabad: A six-year-old boy, who was allegedly kidnapped by an unidentified woman from Krishnaveni Talent School at Ibrahimpatnam on Tuesday, has been rescued here in the evening, police said.

The incident took place when Sathvik, an LKG student, left for school in the morning and did not return till late afternoon. Worried parents lodged a complaint with the police station when they received a ransom call from the kidnapper.

Based on a complaint by the father of the child, police registered a case and took up investigation.

“After receiving the complaint, we fanned the area and enquired about the child at the school and surrounding vicinity. Talking to some people, we came to know that a woman had taken the child from outside the school,” the cops said.

Later in the evening, we received a call from the police control room that the child was seen near bus stop. We immediately rushed to the spot and rescued him, the police officer said adding that the kidnapper posing as a relative lured the child to an isolated place.

A case has been registered against the accused. “Efforts are being made to nab the woman who is still at large,” said the police officer.
