From 5.30 am to 7 am, residents swept the roads with zeal. Some even raised slogans such as “Brahmana Basthi Nivaasam Arogyapradam Chesthaam...Swachhaa Bharathamey Maa Aadarsam” and later took an oath to continue this programme unabated. The residents also promised to track sewage and water

leakage issues to help municipal authorities address the issues swiftly.

The denizens also resolved to demand the municipal authorities to take up the construction of a Rythu Bazar in Sitaphalmandi on an empty land which is currently being used as a dumping yard. Many senior citizens and housewives participated in the programme who expressed the need to carry out such a programme in other areas too.

On the occasion of World Clean-Up Day, Novotel Hyderabad Airport in association with GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, organised a cleaning and painting drive of the neighbourhood primary and high schools campus.

During the ‘Joy of Giving’ week, Novotel Hyderabad Airport along with a few visiting guests from the Charles Sturt University, Sydney, Australia, donated twenty benches with writing desks to help underprivileged children in the primary school. These benches and desks can provide a better and hygienic sitting arrangement to about eighty students. In addition to the above, guests from the Charles Sturt University donated two ceiling fans for the school.

Team Novotel Hyderabad Airport along with Charles Sturt officials distributed sweets, chocolates and soft drinks to students and teachers and engaged in some interesting conversations with them.

“It was a great experience for the entire team to engage in activities that can directly benefit the society.

Hygienic and clean surroundings are of utmost importance and we are glad we could do our bit towards this cause,” said Maverik Mukerji, general manager, Novotel Hyderabad Airport.
