AP, TS Education Ministers to meet on Oct 27

Hyderabad: The Education Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and G Jagadish Reddy respectively, will meet on Monday to discuss issues related to higher educational institutions. Senior officials of both governments will be present. This meeting assumes importance in the wake of doubts being raised about the conduct of separate intermediate examinations by both the states. As per the AP Reorganisation Act, the two state governments should jointly conduct common entrance Tests and admissions for a period of 10 years from the date of bifurcation. But, the Telangana government wants to hold exams separately. If the two governments fail to resolve the issue, the Inter examinations may be delayed.
