Hyderabad: YSRCP candidate Bhuma Akhila Priya, daughter of late Sobha Nagi Reddy, has been elected unopposed from Allagadda Assembly constituency. The returning officer of Allagadda constituency formally announced her election on Friday afternoon.
The election had been necessitated following the death of her mother Sobha Nagi Reddy in a car accident on the eve of the general elections. The TDP and the Congress parties decided to stay away from elections.
The applications filed by two independents were rejected by the Election Commission as they were not in order. This paved way for the unanimous election.
