Sircilla: In a major fire accident, cotton yarn worth Rs 50 lakh was reduced to ashes in a spinning mill at Chandrampeta in Sircilla mandal of Karimnagar district on Friday. Mill-owner B Venkata Swami said the mishap occurred due to short-circuit. Sparks emanating from the switchboard triggered the blaze. Workers alerted the owner and the Fire Services. The Fire Services staff faced difficulty in dousing the flames, as the company management failed to adopt minimum safety measures.
