Farm loan waiver: AP CM sets deadline for bankers
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu set a deadline to the bankers to submit the comprehensive list of loanees so as to begin the process of loan reimbursement.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu set a deadline to the bankers to submit the comprehensive list of loanees so as to begin the process of loan reimbursement. The Chief Minister held a three-hour review meeting with officials here on Friday and asked them to submit the details by October 27. The list has to be submitted through the collectors. Sources said the Chief Minister asked the officials to see that the bankers did not to pressurise the farmers for repayment instead explore the possibility of rescheduling of the loans. The bankers seem to have repeated that unless they got a directive from the Reserve Bank of India, the rescheduling was not possible. Senior officials including Secretaries of Finance Department were present in the meeting.
Later the Chief Minister held a separate meeting with the officials on farm loans.
