Kadiyam nurseries to help restore green cover in Visakhapatnam

Rajahmundry: Kadiyam is famous for nurseries. The nursery owners, who are successful entrepreneurs, have now decided to contribute their might to restore greener cover in Visakhapatnam.

The owners recently met Chief Minister and assured him that they would do their best to restore the green cover in Visakhapatnam. The farmers in Kadiyam are self-taught experts in nurturing myriad kinds of plants. These plants are lapped up by people across the country.

The Nurseries Association told The Hans India that they would make available plants like neem, peepal, bayan, Indian Beech (ganuga), oleander, almond and Turai to the government to restore green cover in Visakhapatnam, which is described as the financial capital of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, Kadiyam farmers are planning to supply avenue plants too. They will grow up to at least to six feet high in a short duration of time and they are to be planted in the place of those crushed by cyclone.. The Kadiyam farmers have expressed confidence that the avenue plants will compensate the loss of avenue plantation to larger extent. Some of them will grow up to 15 feet high.
