Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (File photo)Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd/Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL/VSP) Chairman-cum-Managing Director P Madhusudan, in a communiqué to the entire Vizag Steel fraternity on Saturday, shared the happenings related to the revival of production and greenery at VSP, which was badly hit by ‘Hudhud’ cyclone on October 12.

He expressed his happiness to share the progress achieved by RINL collective in revival of the operations at the plant. He said in the communiqué that critical units like Coke Ovens and Blast Furnaces were all revived and production commenced from Sinter Plant and Steel Melt Shop (SMS) as well.

To scale up the production and to start the Rolling Mills, RINL was in the process of strengthening the power supply line from the State Grid. He attributed the speedy recovery to the tireless efforts of the RINL collective. “Due to the VSP collective’s continuous, unstinted support and never-ending dedication, RINL is all set to revive production in all the units and scale up volumes close to normal levels in about a week’s time,” he said.

Mr Madhusudan complimented each one for the timely response in collectively facing the challenge.

The CMD also congratulated Vizag Steel fraternity for being role model in celebrating ‘Deepavali’ with only lamps and lights. “I admire your sincerity and safety consciousness in celebrating Deepavali this year. I, especially, thank the children of Ukkunagaram for their determination in desisting from fireworks and crackers,” he stated.
