Hyderabad: In order to ease traffic congestion and reduce travel time from various districts to State capital, Telangana government has proposed four Express Highways similar to PVNR Express Highway, which made life easier to passengers who travel to city airport.

At a review meeting held with officials of Roads and Buildings department at Secretariat on Thursday, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao stated that these new highways would come up from Outer Ring Road to Jubilee Bus Stand, Paradise Chowrastha, Uppal and L B Nagar to ensure passengers travelling from Karimnagar, Medak/Nizamabad, Warangal and Nalgonda districts reach state capital without traffic snarls.

He also stated that Rs 1,000 crore would be allotted to each district for sprucing up roads even in villages. “Telangana got a raw deal in this sector and it is time things are set in place. Construction of new roads, repairs and road-widening works would be taken on war-footing basis,” he added.

Rajaiah to head sub-committee on roads.

Meanwhile, KCR constituted a Cabinet sub-committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah that also consists of seven ministers including T Harish Rao, K Taraka Rama Rao and others on this subject.
