Promote biogas plants: ITDA PO
ITDA Project officer D Divya on Thursday said that if biogas plants were set up in every house in tribal villages, the consumption of cooking fuels like firewood and kerosene can be brought down significantly.
Bhadrachalam: ITDA Project officer D Divya on Thursday said that if biogas plants were set up in every house in tribal villages, the consumption of cooking fuels like firewood and kerosene can be brought down significantly.
The Project Officer examined the biogas plants set up by New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd (NREDCAP) in the houses of Sondi Cheram, Sondi Narasimha Rao and Sondi Venkaiah in Palamadugu village of Bhadrachalam mandal. Speaking on the occasion, Divya called upon the villagers to create awareness among local tribals on the benefits of biogas plants. She said they should be encouraged to set up biogas plants at their houses.
She also interacted with the villagers and enquired about the services and subsidy provided to them by NREDCAP. NREDCAP Executive Engineer GSV Prasad said the biogas plants were being sanctioned to each beneficiary at a cost of Rs 20,000.
