14 sand-laden tractors seized

Sircilla (Karimnagar): The police conducted a raid and seized 14 tractors of sand which was being illegally transported from the banks of Maneru river.

The officials earlier sanctioned permission to people here to use the sand for their local needs.

However, taking undue advantage, some persons were illegally transporting sand by tractors from the banks of the river to places outside the district. The locals lodged a complaint with the police.

Following the complaint, the police conducted a raid and seized the sand-laden tractors and shifted them to police station. Town CI said probe would be conducted into the issue and cases would be filed.
