Hyderabad: In order to create better understanding and awareness of the risk factors of breast cancer, Continental Hospitals on Friday conducted “Pink Umbrella Walk” at Gachibowli.

According to Dr Praveen Dadireddy, Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon, the purpose of the walk was to educate women about the risk factors of cancer and to make them aware of early and timely intervention. Women from different walks of life participated in the walk. The hospital also organised breast cancer awareness and prevention camp on the hospital premises. Dr Reddy, who interacted with women, explained to them about the prevailing risk factors, preventive measures, early screening detection and the early treatment options that were available.

He further said detecting cancer early makes treatments more likely to be successful. He said Continental hospital had taken several initiatives and held several health check-up camps, which helped in early detection of cancer cases.
