Vijayawada: The students of Nalanda Degree College on Friday cleaned the railway station as part of the Swachh Bharat call given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The students, led by the college principal, M Anuradha, cleaned platforms one and two and the foot over bridge in the railway station. As many as 100 students of the college’s NSS wing campaigned for Clean India at the railway station.

The divisional railway manager, Pradeep Kumar, who visited the railway station, congratulated the students and the college management for taking part in the Swachh Bharat programme. He said that it was the responsibility of every citizen to keep the surroundings clean and protect the environment.

The Additional Divisional Railway Manager, NSR Prasad, railway chief medical superintendent N Chandrasekhar Rao, NSS coordinator Koteswara Rao and other teaching staff of the college also participated in the programme.
