Warangal: Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was observed across the districts on Friday on a grand manner to celebrated the 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The decision to observe October 31 as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Integration Day was taken by the Union government to display India’s strength and resilience against challenges and to pay tributes to Sardar Patel.

Khammam: District Collector Dr K Ilambarithi has said that services and sacrifices of former Deputy Prime Minister late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would be remembered forever.

He along with Additional Joint Collector K Babu Rao and DRO Shiva Srinivas garlanded the portrait of Sardar Patel at Pragna meeting hall on the occasion of his birth anniversary on Friday and they also observed National Unity Day. Ilambarithi has administered the unity pledge to employees on the occasion.

Adilabad: The BJP district unit conducted a ‘Run for Unity’ rally here on Friday as part of call given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking on the occasion, the party’s city unit in-charge Murali Goud said that Sardar Patel made tremendous effort to unite India by merging provinces. BJP leaders and students have participated in the rally.

Sircilla (Karimnagar): The BJP leaders organised Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary celebrations in a grand manner here on Friday. They offered floral tributes by garlanding his statue in the town.

They said that Sardar Patel has earned the title of Iron Man of India for protecting India’s unity and integrity by merging hundreds of provinces. “India is able to compete with other countries in the world because of Sardar Patel’s efforts,” they said.

Kothagudem (Khammam): The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) general manager (Business Development) Ch Narasimha Rao gave a call to its employees to strive for protecting nation’s unity and integrity. He was the chief guest at ‘National Unity Day’ programme held at SCCL’s head office here on Friday.

He asked each SCCL employee to make a dedicated effort for protecting country’s integrity.
