Yanamala seeks farmers’ cooperation for land pooling
Pitapuram (East Godavari): The State government is making efforts for promotion of industries and as part of it, the Chief Minister is visiting Singapore and planning to visit Japan, China and other countries very soon, said Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
Speaking to the media at Pitapuram on the sidelines of the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme on Thursday, he said the State government was contemplating to form a landbank with two lakh acres to promote industries. There was possibilities inflow of capital from abroad. The government should show land to entrepreneurs to establish industries, he said. He sought the cooperation of the farmers in pooling the land for the purpose of rapid industrialisation.
The decision of Central government to confer special status on the State would definitely help for more industries to come up and special package was also proposed for seven coastal districts in the AP Reorganisation Act.
The Minister said that there were 49 SEZs in the State and the State was endowed with valuable mineral sources and the 14 ports in coastal districts would help for development of the State.
He further stated that two LNGs, one at Kakinada and the other at Visakhapatnam were approved as part of industrial development. Speaking further on establishing industries, the Minister said an Australia firm had come forward to establish ship building unit at Kakinada and the State was in favour of ship building but against ship breaking units which would cause pollution.
With regard to industrial corridor announced by the Centre, he said pollution-free industries would be invited. The Centre had already proposed to establish hardware industry in the district.
Speaking on the representation given to the Minister by the farmers of Kakinada SEZ at Pitapuram, he said that the representation of the farmers was genuine as their lands were given for SEZ, while the educated unemployed were looking for employment. So, in order to solve the problems relating to SEZ, an official committee would be constituted to look after the representations of the farmers and youth as it was promised to provide employment to each family while acquiring lands for this purpose, he said.
Rs.5,000 cr for EBCs welfare
Finance Minister said that the State government was planning to spend Rs 5000 crore in the coming five years for the welfare of the economically backward classes in the State during the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme held at Tatiparthi in Pitapuram mandal of East Godavari district.
He further stated that the subsidised supply of clothes to the poor would be revived in the state which would help the weaving community and the poor.
The State government was helping nearly one crore families by giving pensions and loan waiver for farmers and DWCRA women, Deputy Chief Minister N. Chinarajappa said. All the eligible would be given pensions and efforts were being made to provide safe drinking water through NTR Sujala Sravanthi Scheme, he added.
