Guntur: State CPI secretary K Ramakrishna on Thursday demanded an all-party meeting for taking a decision on the new capital. Speaking to the media here, he called upon the State government to work with the first objective of paying compensation to farmers who lands are to be taken for the building the capital city.

The CPI leader claimed that there were apprehensions and doubts among farmers following the government’s failure to implement the farm loan waiver scheme. He asserted that the party wound not remain a silent spectator if realty traders take up business ventures in the name of constructing the capital. Ramakrishna wanted the government to give exemption to the lands abutting the Krishna river water flow. He hailed the decision to scrap mining leases and SEZs.
