Hyderabad: Communications Advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government, Parakala Prabhakar, said on Sunday that the government would sign six MoUs with Japanese government and private industrial entities during the four-day trip to Japan.

He said that besides an 18-member official delegation, 25 to 30 member business delegation consisting of members of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the like will also accompanying the official delegation.

The MoUs would pertain to transfer of know-how in agriculture Instruments, power, urban infrastructure, waste management, electronic and the like.

Due to political uncertainty in Japan, the scheduled meeting with the Japanese prime minister has not yet been finalised.
The delegation will also sign an MoU with NEDO which has been engaged in research and development of new, safe and alternative energy development for last two decades.

Similarly MOUs will be signed with Sumitomo Corporation which would act as an interface for Andhra Pradesh government in bringing investments, technology, technical knowhow from Japan and other Asian countries.


As part of this, one MOU would be inked on agriculture instruments, on best practices in agriculture to boost yields and technical knowhow.

Another MOU is being contemplated for setting up a 4000 megawatt coal-based power plant in Srikakulam. This would include funding, construction and development of the project.

Another MOU focuses in exploring investments from JICA and other financial institutions, for funding food processing industries in the State.

The delegation would also visit Osaka, Koyoto, Tokyo and other cities and study transport, urban management, waste management, energy management etc.

The whole idea is to take leverage the 30 billion dollar investment which was announced by Japan to India, during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to that country, Prabhakar added.
