Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police took two pickpockets, one rowdy sheeter, one ex-convict and 14 suspected persons into custody during a ‘cordon and search’ operation conducted at Hasan Nagar under Rajendranagar police station limits in the wee hours on Sunday. They seized 65 motor cycles and 15 autos from them.

The police was comprised of K Ramesh Naidu, DCP, Shamshabad Zone, B Srinivas Reddy, Additional DCP (Crimes) and E Ramchandra Reddy, Additional DCP (OSD) SOT, three ACPs, 30 inspectors, 44 SIs, 11 ASIs and about 360 constables and home guards, two special party and one platoon each of AR, SOT staff and CCS staff.

The operation was carried out for seizing stolen vehicles and properties, weapons, drugs and to nab history sheeters including suspects, known depredators, dossier criminals, burglars and also to identify foreigners without proper visa. They took into custody, Md Muneer, 22, Md Mohsin alias Chinna, 19, both pick pockets, Sk Masthan, 49, rowdy sheeter and Md Abdul Rasheed, 29, an ex-convict (earlier arrested under Arms Act) and 14 other suspects.

Police who earlier caught thieves, who were non-locals, Irani Gang from Parli of Maharashtra, ISI agents and Maoists believe Hasan Nagar is safe haven for criminals. They also believe that a lot of criminals, who are from other places in the State and neighbouring States are taking shelter in Cyberabad limits, including Rajendranagar where police vigilance is poor.

The Cyberabad police will continue ‘cordon and search’ operations to keep a check on criminals and to induce sense of safety amongst the citizens.
