13 Andhra Bank branches in Warangal zone by March

Warangal: The Andhra Bank zonal office celebrated the bank’s 91st Foundation Day on a grand scale on Monday. Zonal manager C Dhananjaya said “the week-long celebrations have begun on the day as the day coincides with the 134th birth anniversary of its founder B Pattabhi Sitaramayya,”

Activities like blood donation and competitions in essay-writing and elocution for students of schools and colleges across the zone (Warangal and Khammam districts) will be held during the week.

The bank will conducting customer meets at all branches seeking feedback on its operations and performance of personnel in order to rectify shortcomings, Dhananjaya told the media. A customer meet was held at zonal office.An ATM centre was inaugurated at Gopalpur, taking the total number of ATMs in the zone to 93.

Explaining the bank’s expansion, he said 13 new branches would be set up in the zonal limits by the end of March 2015. Seven-eight branches would come up in the district headquarters, for which a feasibility study was underway.

The zone targets to achieve Rs 7,000 crore business by the end of current financial year. By September-end the bank did business worth Rs 5,593 crore, with Rs 2,774 crore as deposits and Rs 2,819 crore as loans, Dhananjaya said. It was planned to convert Fatima Nagar, Nayeem Nagar and Warangal branches into ‘Navshakti’ branches, aiming to provide round-the-clock quality services. The bank was encouraging small entrepreneurs by extending loans and offering insurance-linked deposits to the public.Assistant general manager K V Nancharaiah and senior official Nellutla Rama Devi were present.
