Warangal: The district Congress leaders protested here on Monday opposing naming of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport domestic terminal after NTRl.
DCC president N Rajender Reddy, former MLA K Sridhar, town resident T Vidyasagar, senior leader Errabelli Vardarajeswar Rao, DCCB chairman J Raghava Reddy and others addressed party workers at Ambedkar statue in Hanamkonda.

They described the Centre’s act of changing the name of the terminal as ‘undemocratic’. “A series of agitations would be launched across the State if the Centre fails to withdraw its decision,” they warned.
Rajender Reddy and Vidyasagar faulted the support extended by Telangana TDP leaders to the Centre’s move. They said the TDP leaders in the State were acting like Andhra leaders, damaging the interests of Telangana people. Flaying the government, the leaders said the Assembly had passed a resolution. A delegation should be taken to Delhi to pressure Prime Minister Narendra Modi to continue the status quo.
The airport should be named after Rajiv Gandhi as it was built with funds released by the UPA government. Party leaders EV Srinivasa Rao, B Prabhakar Reddy, Namindla Srinivas, G Amrutha Rao, G Ramakanth Reddy were present.
