Hyderabad: In what comes as the manifestation of an alarmingly morbid trend, a high school student of a reputed school allegedly shot video of a second class student when she was urinating in the toilet.

Parents of the girl student held a protest outside the private school at Safilguda in Malkajgiri over the allegation of voyeurism and video shooting.

The incident, which took place on November 17, came to light on Monday after the parents questioned the safety of girls in the school. Angry parents staged a protest outside the DAV School, where the incident allegedly took place. They also demanded the school management to ensure safety of all students.

However, principal of the school Seetha Kiran said the issue was blown out of proportion. “One boy accidentally entered into the small childrens’ washroom when girls were urinating, that is it. We are not keeping quiet and definitely looking into the matter,” she said.

Later, the police registered the case under section 354 (C) (Voyeurism) of IPC on the complaint of the Principal. Police assured the parents of forming a committee along with school management to find out what actually had happened on Saturday. They will also question the student responsible for voyeurism and will counsel him.

According to police, the girl child of 2nd standard went to the wash room along with a friend. While they were inside, a grown up boy also entered into it. She reported the matter to her parents who in turn informed the coordinator on November 20, on the request that their daughter would not be put through identification parade and let the incident out.

They immediately began to investigate covertly, as the case was sensitive. “The only clue the child could give was that he was a boy with long blue pants, which is the uniform of VII – X classes. The boy is yet to be identified,” said N Chandra Babu, Inspector, Neredmet police station.
