While ‘Rowdy Fellow’ faring well at the box-office is a cause for happiness, Nara Rohit’s other concern right now is that a major section of audience wants him to shed the extra kilos. “Even I share their feelings and am working towards it. I met with an accident during the shooting of ‘Pratinidhi’ and thereafter put on weight. But by January you will get to see an athletic Rohit,” he assures.

‘Rowdy Fellow’, which released last Friday, initially managed to create quite a buzz but opened poorly. Reflecting on it, he says, “We got the censor certificate on Wednesday and so couldn’t take the release date to the audience in time. However, as word of mouth spread, people are flocking to the theatres.”

Commenting on the film’s slow pace, he says it’s probably because of the background score. “Had we gone for a typical Tollywood style score, maybe I wouldn’t have come across such comments. Having said that, composer Sunny’s work is being appreciated by all and sundry.”

Known for his impeccable dialogue delivery, Rohit says he learnt diction at Madhu Film Institute. “Before I went to pursue acting in the US, I learnt various slangs of the two states. My next film, ‘Pandagala Vachchadu’, will see me delivering dialogues in East Godavari accent.

And it has been a constant effort from my side to try out new dictions for every film,” says the actor, who will be shooting for ‘Prema Ishq Kadhal’ director Pavan Sadineni’s next. “It’s a love story laced with family emotions. It will be on the lines of ‘Solo’. Since audiences want me to do a film like ‘Solo’, why not treat them to it? We’ll start shooting from January.”

One of the most eligible bachelors in T-town, he says he might tie the knot in a year’s time. “My parents are on the hunt for a girl.” Ask him if he’s not interested in love marriage, he says, “Since my family is already on the lookout, what’s the point? I can fall in love after marriage, right?”
