Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, a Class IV student from Prakasam district of AP ran away from his house to see Charminar. He left his house without the knowledge of his parents along with Rs 65,000 cash to have a glimpse of the historic monument.

According to Nampally police, KV Karthikeya, 11, who hails from Kanigiri, Prakasam, wanted to see Charminar and boarded a train to Hyderabad from his hometown. Before that, he made enquiries about how to reach Hyderabad from his friends at school and took along Rs 65,000 cash.

He finally got down at Nampally Railway Station on Tuesday evening. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) police found the boy’s movements suspicious and questioned him. When they enquired, the boy revealed that he ran away from home with cash to see Charminar, which was his greatest aspiration.

Police later informed their counterparts in Kanigiri. Upon knowing Kathikeya’s whereabouts, his parents reached Hyderabad and police handed over the boy to them. It was a great relief both to the parents and police.
