Film stars to shine for star-crossed Vizag

Tollywood actors to come together for a mega star night to raise funds for cyclone-hit district

Hyderabad: Film fraternity is organising a mega event in Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad on November 30 to raise funds for the cyclone-hit Visakhapatnam. Well-known film producer D Sureshbabu said the film fraternity had always come forward to help the people hit by natural calamities. The super cyclone has devastated the region and the funds sanctioned so far would not suffice to meet the reconstruction costs, and hence our decision to render our bit,” he said. “I, along with Allu Arvind and Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, thought of organising a film star nite to raise funds. All stars, producers and actors are cooperating in this event,”' he said.

The events will unfold with a dinner on November 29 in which people will have an opportunity to dine with them. Each ticket will cost Rs 1 lakh and only 250 tickets will be sold. Next day the entertainment events will start at 10 am and conclude at 10 pm. There will be lucky draws, dances, concerts etc. The entire event will be telecast live.

Srinivasa Rao said, “till November 17, NRIs donated an amount of Rs 110 crore and employees and other organisations Rs 100 crore.” Venkatesh and Shreya said they felt proud to be associated with this programme.
