5 of family electrocuted in Anantapur district
In a tragic mishap, five farmers belonging to one family of Chikalagurki village in Vidavapanakal mandal of Anantapur district were killed on Friday when a live high tension wire accidentally fell on an iron pipe as they were engaged in removing bore well pipes for taking up repairs.
Anantapur: In a tragic mishap, five farmers belonging to one family of Chikalagurki village in Vidavapanakal mandal of Anantapur district were killed on Friday when a live high tension wire accidentally fell on an iron pipe as they were engaged in removing bore well pipes for taking up repairs.
They died on the spot while holding onto the pipe. A pall of gloom descended on the village with the family members.The gory incident happened when a farmer Revanna, along with his sons, Yerriswamy (32), Brahmayya(25), nephew Dharmendra (25) and grandson Rajasekhar were attending to repair work of the borewell in their fields Minister for Information Palle Raghunatha Reddy, MLA Vishweswar Reddy, Collector Arogyaraj, Transco SE Prasad Reddy and district officials visited the accident spot. They collected information from villagers.
The Minister and MLA, after consoling the bereaved family, assured that steps would be taken to provide government assistance to the family.
