Hyderabad: Contrary to the stand so far adopted by the TRS, Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj K Taraka Rama Rao on Friday admitted for the first time that the agitation for separate State did affect the investment climate in Telangana.

Speaking on the industrial policy, KTR said the government was taking all measures to see that there would be no bureaucratic delays in granting approvals. “The new policy will restore the confidence among investors and it will not only restore the Brand Hyderabad image but will create a new Brand Telangana image,” he said.

KTR’s acceptance that the Brand Hyderabad image had been hit assumes importance as in the past whenever the protagonists of United Andhra, including former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, used to warn that ‘Brand Hyderabad’ was getting affected by the TS agitation, the TRS leaders used to dismiss the claim by stating that companies were actually in expansion mode.

Quoting several independent reports, they would maintain that the Telangana opponents were resorting to false propaganda.
