Shogra Khurasani, Baroda based artist recently held an exhibition at Kalakriti art gallery. The art show displayed various forms of print making, which is her main medium of work and other forms of display such as photographs and digital display. The landscape wood cuts are meant to depict the idea of beauty and violence.

The presence of blood red is the main element of her current work, for instance her wood cuts such as flooded flow and silent torso, magnifies blood cells erupting out of a volcano. One cannot miss noticing the detail of these works. To bring that amount of detail through print is quite a task but the artist says she is all about overcoming challenges.

One of her digital display includes the last words of NIrbhaya, “I want to live” burning on the screen. The artist has dug these words on the ground which went up to 54 feet, and set fire to it.

The show is being curated by local artist Noman Ammouri, and is on till 30th of November.
