Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday said that despite inheriting nearly Rs 1,500 crore dues towards fee reimbursement, Telangana government so far had cleared Rs 500 crore and would clear the remaining dues soon.

Seeking support to the Appropriation Bill in the Legislative Council, the Chief Minister said the government owed nearly Rs 700 crore dues to the road contractors. Citing non-clearance of old dues, the contractors were not willing to take up new projects initiated by the Telangana Government, he said.

Reiterating that his government would fulfill all the promises that it made with the people, he said revenues were being mobilised from all sources without burdening any sector. He informed that the State Government had earned Rs 25,947 crore since the formation of new State. He condemned the delay in division of employees and allotment of cadre and said the shortage of staff has badly hit the functioning of the government.
