Hyderabad: In a fresh memorandum on encroachment of lands, the AIMIM has demanded the Telangana government to order a probe into the land allotments to SEZs, industries, IT firms, infrastructure projects, cinema studios and private ventures in Telangana by the previous government in the erstwhile united AP.

The MIM delegation led by the party MLC Syed Amin Jafry, who attended the all-party meeting conducted by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Tuesday, submitted a memorandum to the KCR and urged him to inquire into the land allotments. The leaders complained that lakhs of acres of lands have been allotted to thousands of such beneficiaries at nominal or at virtually throwaway prices by the successive governments in the last six decades.

The party also demanded to stop the regularisation of urban land ceiling surplus lands, government lands and non-agricultural encroachments on assigned lands as the government announced constitution of House committees to study into the land issues. The party would not support any hasty action on regularisation till the reports of the committees were received.

The MIM leaders pointed out that the parties have been provided the details only with regard to urban land ceiling surplus lands in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. Government has not furnished the particulars with regard to government lands and non-agricultural encroachments on assigned lands in the two said districts. Also, no alternative proposals on the regularisation of these different categories of lands have been circulated to the parties.
