Life is all about living it the way we wish. Some people believe in it but only a few perspire for it. Songhak Lin from South Korea chose to live the way he dreamt and embarked on a world tour on a bicycle on June 3 for an experience of a lifetime. He has already covered China and Nepal and parts of North India and visited Mumbai and Kolkata as part of his world tour. The 31-year-old was in the city on Wednesday enroute to Chennai.

Speaking about his unique mission, Lin said he was determined to face any hurdles that come in his way during his world tour. He was granted Visa for three months to tour India. He exuded confidence that he would reach Sri Lanka before the expiry of his visa. The things Lin is carrying on his bicycle for his world tour includes three water bottles, a grooming kit, a DSLR, a dome tent and three duffel bags packed with all essentials, including a mobile phone and medicines in case he falls ill. He modified his bicycle slightly to carry the extra luggage on his world tour. He sleeps in his dome tent during nights.

Soon after dawn, he resumes his journey after completing his morning ablutions. He met many people and tasted a variety of Indian food during his journey. He is confident to face any situation in an unknown territory during his world tour to gain a rich experience. With a hat and a scarf to protect himself from the sun and dust, Lin sets out on his bicycle with his earphones on.

On funding for his world tour, Lin said he saved a small amount while working as a sales executive in South Korea for five years. He has spent about $7,000 so far for his food and other basic necessaries during his journey. After covering Sri Lanka, he wants to visit Pakistan and European countries.
