Pension distribution begins in Municipal Corporation today
District Collector Dr K Ilambarithi assured that pension would be provided to all eligible persons under the limits of Khammam Municipal Corporation and urban mandal.

Khammam: District Collector Dr K Ilambarithi assured that pension would be provided to all eligible persons under the limits of Khammam Municipal Corporation and urban mandal.
He said that following the scrutiny of applications, 15,018 applicants were found to be eligible for pensions under the Corporation and urban mandal limits.
The Collector said the process of distribution of pensions would commence on December 18 and it would be completed within three days.
Ilambarithi called upon the eligible persons whose names were not found in the list not to get upset. He asked them to file fresh applications and assured that pension would be sanctioned to them. He appealed to people not to get misled by rumours on pensions. He pointed out that sanction of pension to eligible persons is a continuous process.
The Collector held a review meeting on distribution of pensions in Khammam Assembly constituency (corporation and urban mandal limits) with bill collectors, junior assistants, revenue inspectors and other officials at the municipal corporation office here on Wednesday.
He said people faced inconvenience due to the delay in distribution of Aasara pensions. The Collector said lack of coordination between the officials of the municipal corporation and DRDA caused the delay.
He directed the Corporation officials and staff to form into groups for distribution of pensions. Each group should consist of eight members and five groups should be formed for the distribution of pensions. He said the pensions should be distributed at five counters at the corporation office both in the morning and evening. He asked the corporation staff to wear the uniform while distributing the pensions.
He said the district-level officials will inspect the process of pension distribution. Ilambarithi said that he would also make sudden inspections.
DRDA Project Director Srinivas Nayak, assistant city planning officer, officials and staff of DRDA and Khammam Municipal Corporation attended the meeting.
