The engagement ceremony took place at the officers club in vishaka. The groom’s family had already taken Rs. 10 lakh as dowry but started demanding even more post engagement.
Parameshwar works for an aquaculture in Vizag and wanted money to set up ice factory on his own so he could supply to the company. And hence just before the marriage, he demanded another Rs 2 crore, 1 KG of gold and 5 kgs of silver.
Feeling impotenet, the girl's parents made every effort to convince Parameswar. The boy then began threatening the girl's family that they have the backing of political leaders. Left with no option, the girl's parents lodged a complaint.
Police registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab Paraveshwar.
